His Life and other Works

  • Oscar Wilde was an Irish playwright, poet, short story writer, journalist who was born on October 16, 1854 in Dublin Ireland and died in Paris at the age of 46 on November 30, 1900. He became an outstanding classicist -- being an intelligent and an intellectual at a very young age. He learned French and German at a very young age as well.
  • Raised and born to a very intellectual and prominent parents, it was not difficult for him to become an intelligent persona.
  • He is an interesting persona and known for his biting wit, dress flamboyantly and glittering conversations. His novel is widely known == “ The Picture of Dorian Gray” which brought him into prominence. He is well known writing about the Victoria era in London and his writings are full of statures and social humors. His famous piece “The Importance of Being Earnest “ is widely acclaimed as well.
  • While in France he wrote the terse poem about the harsh life at prison entitled “ The Ballad of Reading Gaol”.
  • Other than these two famous masterpiece of Oscare Wilde, he is also known for his famous quotes and sayings.
